BCA Bush Church Aid shares the gospel, builds up the church, and cares for people all around Australia. Field Staff serve in regional and remote parts of Australia. Locals in these places are removed from cities, live in sparsely populated towns (sometimes as small as a few hundred people), and often don’t benefit from strong support networks of family and friends. Churches in these areas can struggle, ongoing fellowship can be hard to maintain, and encouragement can become a rarity.
With a particular heart for such people, BCA - in conjunction with the various Anglican Dioceses of Australia - places Field Staff, Co-Workers and Affiliates across the continent. Whether working as pastors, teachers, evangelists, chaplains or Scripture teachers, Field Staff bring evangelism, encouragement and ministry to people in all corners of the country. It is our deep desire and prayer that people throughout Australia would bow their knee to Jesus, be transformed by God’s word, and live their lives to His glory.
BCA is one of two charities that the Parish of Yarram supports through their mission giving each month.

2015 Strategic Plan is ‘To be changed as we listen to God in Prayer.’ This focus is in addition to those areas agreed to in February 2014.

There are many ways to pray and many places in which to pray. As Anglicans we have a very good resource for daily prayer in the Prayer Book for Australia. During Holy Week Reverend Jo will lead Morning Prayer each day 9.00am at Holy Trinity.

 Anglican Aid Abroad offer this prayer for our use:

Oh God, our Heavenly Father, who didst send thine only begotten Son into this world to teach us to love one another, grant that the missionaries of St Andrew and their co-workers may so faithfully obey His commands that all people may live free from want, in peace and security, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with three in the unity of the Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen.

NEW TO MISSION TABLE –
Anglican Overseas Aid – Easter Appeal; this organisation is the preferred agency of The Primate of Australia, Archbishop Philip Freier and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby in providing rapid response to the disaster in Vanuatu following cyclone Pam. A retiring offering will again be available following the service today. (see the parish website for more information)
Ship to Shore – the magazine of The Mission to Seafarers; this group is a particular charity of our Parish given our association with the sea via fishing off Port Albert.
Brotherhood of St Laurence – Building Better Lives March Issue; multiple copies, feel free to take one home to read.
Anglican Aid Abroad – March Issue; this is one of our chosen mission projects for this year; multiple copies of their newsletter are available.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS at Holy Trinity Yarram – Wednesday 1st April 7.30pm;
a service of prayer and meditation as we walk the way of the cross with Jesus and Saturday 4th April following The Tarra Festival Parade; a self-guided walk available until 4.00pm.
This year we mount a display of art posters created by the Benedictine Nuns of Turvey Abbey in Bedford UK. These inspired illustrations of Christ's journey to the cross are presented to us through colour and symbol. Extremely rich in colour the images trace Christ's journey to the cross, from Peter's denial of his master and Jesus's willing acceptance of his cross to the crucifixion and entombment. This display will be accompanied by decorated crosses created by The Umbrella Club in 2014.
