West Window roller shutters: Would you like to contribute to this project? We have raised $ 427.85 our goal is $1,920.00. These roller shutters are important in our ministry to the community because they will darken the worship space so that everyone is able to see what is on the screen with greater clarity. This is particularly needed when we have afternoon events such as funerals when a photo eulogy or other power point presentation is used.

SAVE THE DATE – Sunday 14th December Combined Churches Community Christmas Carols at the Regent Theatre. Would you like to be involved? There are lots of jobs including being part of the cast for our Nativity Play or tech support (sound & lighting) or decorating or front of house or serving refreshments or liaising with local schools and other groups. Pop your name on the list in the foyer.

ACCESS Ministries is calling on us to support their work through advocacy and signing a petition that serves to remind all politicians in our State Parliament the CRE and Chaplaincy is valued and appreciated by many Victorians. This petition is available at St John’s on Sunday 17th August.

Have your say about the type of person to be the next Bishop of Gippsland

The Bishop Appointments Board is seeking wide consultation with all members of the Diocese both lay and ordained. We are invited to attend a Regional Meeting 2.30pm August 24th at St Mary’s Mirboo North. Archdeacon Philip Muston, Diocesan Administrator urges us to take our part in this important phase of discernment.

Prayer for The Appointments Board -

Continue to pray for those charged with discerning the candidate for the position of Bishop in our Diocese:

Lay people: David Chambers; John Delzoppo; Marian Dewar; Robert Fordham; Val Jones; and Jo Sestokis.

Clergy:     Graeme Knott; Greg McGee; Barb Logan; Heather Marten; Philip Muston; Lyn Williams.

Eternal God, shepherd and guide,

in your mercy give your Church in this diocese of Gippsland a shepherd after your own heart

who will walk in your ways, and with loving care watch over your people.

Give us a leader of vision and a teacher of your truth.

So may your Church be built up and your name glorified;

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
