From Rev Jo
Jesus was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, 'Lord, teach us to pray.' (Luke 11:1)
The prayer that Jesus taught us is a blue print for our life as Christians.
Our Father in heaven hallowed by your name - In hallowing God’s name we honour God our creator and give God the highest priority in our lives. If we are uncertain about where to direct our energy then the Lord’s Prayer can be our guide.
Your will be done our earth as it is in heaven - Our work is for the kingdom of God and its coming; let God’s will be done on earth. Let God’s righteousness and peace be our highest priority.
Give us today our daily bread - We ought to be truly thankful for the simple things; our daily bread, the air the sky the sea and for all the blessings of the earth.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us - As Christians let forgiveness be our emblem. The world is a better place when we don’t hold onto hurts and when we allow forgiveness to flow freely.
Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil - When we put God first and honour him our perspective changes. God is faithful, we can rely on him even through the trials and evil that beset us.
Amen.

Today we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet today, the Bratwoloong people of the Gunaikurnai nation and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
In Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, the meaning of Country is more than just ownership or connection to land, as Professor Mick Dodson explains:
“When we talk about traditional ‘Country’…we mean something beyond the dictionary definition of the word. For Aboriginal Australians…we might mean homeland, or tribal or clan area and we might mean more than just a place on the map. For us, Country is a word for all the values, places, resources, stories and cultural obligations associated with that area and its features. It describes the entirety of our ancestral domains. While they may all no longer necessarily be the title-holders to land, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians are still connected to the Country of their ancestors and most consider themselves the custodians or caretakers of their land.” Reconciliation Week
